Cookies: What Stays in Your Browser

Cookies are small values stored by a browser for a website. Other browser features can also retain information. They should not all be treated as the same thing.

Notice version: 2026

What the editorial site code uses

The supplied HTML, CSS and JavaScript do not set cookies, use localStorage or sessionStorage, or include analytics and advertising scripts. The menu state, reveal animations and nomination preview are held only in the current page’s memory.

No optional advertising or analytics feature needs to run for you to read the articles. Core content and ordinary links remain available without JavaScript. The nomination preparation, copy and download controls require JavaScript.

Platform controls and hosting

A deployment platform may provide separate consent controls, security services or other site-wide functionality. Any storage introduced by those services is separate from the editorial code described above. If a live consent panel is present, use its controls for the purposes it identifies. Accepting an optional category should not be understood as necessary merely to read these articles.

Hosting may also generate server logs, which are not browser cookies. See the privacy notice for the distinction between local interface behavior and technical request processing. This notice does not invent cookie names or expiry periods for platform services whose configuration is not specified here.

Manage your browser

You can inspect and remove site cookies and storage using your browser’s privacy or site-data settings. You can also block cookies according to your preferences. Clearing site data does not erase email you have sent, text retained by another application or files you downloaded.

Browser autofill, history, cache, clipboard synchronization, extensions and session restoration are controlled by your browser or device. Their behavior may persist information even where the site itself does not intentionally store form entries.

Questions and updates

If you see unexpected storage associated with this domain, email [email protected] with the storage name and relevant page. Do not include sensitive cookie values or authentication tokens. This notice should be reviewed when the live service adds or changes storage-related features.
